 Well done to all!

Coin Competition Winner Announced!

The results are in!

The £1 Coin Competition winner has been announced! There were lots of fantastic entries from Beaumont students across many year groups! After much deliberation, the finalists were the designs below:

Nell Hayes 8L                                   Yasin Khan 8L
    Ethan Cohen-Rose 7R                  Matika Flatau-Brown 8L

All 4 students received a special certificate featuring their own designs and they also received a pot of gold £1 coins as well (the edible kind!).

The winner's prize went to Matika Flatau-Brown! Her design was striking and represented England well with her careful and intricate detail. Matika's design was drawn up professionally and then manufactured into a special trophy for her using our new Laser Cutter!
Matika's winning design professionally drawn up.

The trophy made especially for Matika using our laser cutter.

Well done to everyone who took the time to enter, and a big congratulations to our 3 runners up and overall winner for their outstanding achievements!

Keep an eye out for more competitions in the future and make sure you enter for chances to win!

We have a laser cutter!

Exciting news in the D&T department at the moment, the BSA has generously funded a wonderful laser cutter for our students!

We are excited at all the possibilities in how this will enrich your product designing in D&T - so be on the look out next year to start learning more about CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design / Computer Aided Manufacture) and have a go at making your own high quality products using the laser cutter!

We may have already used the laser cutter to design and make a trophy for a special £1 coin competition winner... watch this space!
